In 2012 Chin Communications celebrates 20 years as Australia's leading Chinese Translation specialists. Twenty years ago - last century - China was virtually unknown. Contrast that with 21st century China – everyone wants a piece and China will become the superpower of this millennium.

China’s economic rise is THE story of the late 20th century. With a GDP of around 5 trillion USD (the second largest in the world now), growth has averaged almost 10 per cent since the 1980s.

From 1978 when DENG Xiaoping started to introduce market-oriented reforms output quadrupled over the next 20 years. China aims to quadruple it again before 2020.

In 1992, when Chin Communications was established, we saw the potential importance of China to Australia’s future. Deng Xiaoping soon declared that ‘it didn’t matter what colour the cat was as long as it caught mice’, and so began the rush into China.

We made it our mission to help Australian businesses get into the China market. For almost twenty years we have been working with Australian companies, governments and organisations assisting them to succeed in China by providing highly skilled language services – from presidents and prime ministers, to entrepreneurs and businesspeople.

Back in the early 90s, it was common to handwrite Chinese translations. We identified the lack of Chinese language expertise in Australian organisations and the lack of trained, experienced translators and interpreters with fluency in English and an understanding of both Australian and Chinese institutions, systems and ways of doing business. We were able to bridge the gap by working with organisations ensuring accurate communications and adopting the best technology available to give clients the results they wanted.
