Award-winning Mandarin Interpreter and Chinese Translator, Charles Qin, established Chin Communications in 1992 now regarded as Australia's leading specialist Chinese translation company. He has established a reputation as one of the region's leading Chinese translator/interpreters whose 'clients' include President Hu Jintao, George W Bush and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jiang Zemin.
Charles has been at Olympic and Commonwealth Games, at World Expo, APEC, G20 and FTA negotiations. He was a key interpreter when Jiang Zemin was the first Chinese president to visit Australia in 1999 and the first interpreter to provide simultaneous interpreting in Parliament House for the inaugural visit of President Hu Jintao in 2003.
Charles is also the first and only Australian Mandarin Interpreter to be admitted to AIIC (the international conference interpreters' elite organisation) and achieved accreditation at NAATI Level 5 in Australia (the highest possible level).
In 2006 Charles was appointed Visiting Professor by the Tianjin Institute of Foreign Studies, a key translating and interpreting studies university in China, and in 2007 as a Visiting Professor at Kunming University of Science and Technology.
