Background
Kate co-founded Chin Communications in 1992. Prior to this, she worked in China for a number of years and was prescient in identifying the importance language would play in Australia’s future.
Kate focuses on securing long-term relationships across business and industry sectors, and leads Chin in delivering outstanding language services to clients as their ‘trusted language partner’, solving their communication problems.
Kate has been a board member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters (AUSIT) and one of the instigators of the AUSIT Excellence Awards in Interpreting and Translating. She was also a board member of the Australia China Business Council Victoria Division. Kate continues as a member and contributor to both organisations. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
The local choir, her garden, travelling and anything on the ABC – radio and TV – occupy her not very abundant spare time.
